Customizing default picture labels

By Default, media in reports will be labeled with the item number and the type of media (I.E. picture or video). Follow these instructions to edit the Default labels:

  1. Navigate to File > Printing Options

  2. Click the Misc tab

  3. Look for the box titled Photos/Videos Title Text

  4. You can delete or rearrange the words in that field. Deleting everything from the box will remove those words from the picture label.

  5. You can enter two special Smart Text words in this box. These words will automatically bring information about the picture into the label:

    • *num* inserts the number of the picture in the label

    • *type* inserts the type of media in the label (e.g., Picture or Video)

  6. Click OK when finished

An example of using these:

  • Using *type* *num* becomes Picture 1 on the report if it is a picture and the first on the inspection item.

  • Using *type* *num* becomes Video 2 on the report if it is a video and the second on the inspection item.

Saving New Picture Labels to Your Template

  1. Open your Desktop software and select the template you'd like to edit.

  2. Go to Template -> All Comments

  3. The Default Category for picture labels is INTRODUCTIONS AND FOOTERS -> picture text quick comments -> Picture labels. Select this category to see existing picture labels.

  4. Click the Orange Plus sign on the right side of the popup window to add a new comment to the picture label category. Add as many of them as you would like!

  5. These new comments will need to be added to the picture label local list before they can be used. Continue following the instructions for Inserting Saved Picture Labels to use these comments.

Inserting Saved Picture Labels

Note: Picture labels can also be entered manually below an image.

This can be used to explain what the picture is or where on the property it was taken.

Custom picture labels can also be saved to the template to be used on future reports. Here is how:

  1. Open a report and navigate to the picture that you want to label.

  2. Click the magic wand Icon above the picture label field to open the local comment list.

  3. Saved picture labels will work just like comments. You can select from one of the existing picture labels in this list and insert it, or you can choose any existing comments from the comment Global list to add to the Picture Label Local list by clicking the orange plus sign in the top right corner. If you have added new picture labels using the steps above, find them in the category that you saved them to. We Recommend saving Picture labels to INTRODUCTIONS AND FOOTERS -> picture text quick comments -> Picture labels.
