In the Android 11 update, Samsung has introduced a feature that prevents apps from working in the background by default. To ensure your apps run smoothly, it’s crucial to exclude them from battery optimization. Additionally, Samsung Galaxy 10 and 20 devices have a 'Sleeping Apps' feature that conserves battery but might affect app functionality. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to optimize your apps for both Android 11 and Samsung Galaxy 10 & 20 devices.
Android 11 Battery Optimization
Go to Settings
Tap Apps
Tap HomeGauge Companion
Tap Battery
Tap Battery Optimizations
Tap All Apps
Make sure toggle for HomeGauge companion is turned off
Press back, HomeGauge should now say Not optimized
Samsung Galaxy 10 & 20 Sleeping Apps
Warning: Make sure Put unused apps to sleep and Auto-disable unused apps is disabled. Otherwise, Samsung will put your apps back to sleep after a few days (3 by default) even if you have woken them up manually!
On some phones, the same lists are placed in Battery > Background usage limits.
