Release Notes: Inspector Dashboard June 3rd, 2026

New Feature

Partial Refunds are now in the Inspector Dashboard!

You can now issue partial refunds without leaving HomeGauge.

Previously, refunding part of a payment meant either refunding the entire transaction and then collecting the corrected amount, or logging into the HomeGauge Payments portal to handle it outside the platform.

Partial refunds now happen right from the Payment Information page.

How does it work?

  • You can issue partial or full refunds on settled payments directly from the payment's menu, allowing you to enter any amount up to the remaining refundable balance.

  • Refunds are scoped to individual payments, so if an invoice has multiple payments, each can be refunded independently. An invoice stays "Paid" until all its payments are fully refunded, then it will automatically change to "Unpaid."

Other New Additions

  • Refund history on the Payment Information page.
Partial refund history now appears under the payment details, the same way full refunds already surface. Each entry shows the refunded amount and date, and multiple refunds against one payment are listed newest-first.

  • Refunds reflected on the Receipt page.

  • Receipts now show partial refund amounts and the remaining balance. The net amount paid is clearly distinguishable from the original charge, and multiple refunds are itemized with date and reason.

Important Note: Invoices with refund history can't be deleted. This is intentional in order to preserve your refund receipt data.
