Inspectors can easily include videos in their reports, making it a breeze for their clients to comprehend their findings. This awesome feature is available on both the browser and mobile app versions of Web Report Writer, so inspectors can make their reports more engaging and informative than ever before!

Video Restrictions
Before diving into this new feature, it's important to note the following restrictions:
- Videos can only be up to 100MB in size.
- Video duration is limited to 40 seconds.
- Exceeding these limits will result in the video failing to appear in the published report.
- Inspection Reports can not be larger than 500 MB.
- Video cannot be assigned to the Cover Image
- Video is not available within forms
Capturing Video on Mobile App
To capture a video using the Web Writer Mobile App, follow these steps:
Take a Video in a Comment
- Log into the Web Report Writer Mobile app
- Select an inspection
- Navigate to the Media section
- Tap the Add Media button
- Click Take Video

Record a short video and select the Check to save the video to your media gallery
Take a Video from Media
- Open an inspection report
- Select Media
- Click Add Media, then Take Video
- Record your video. Afterward, you can confirm the video or start over.
- Once the video is in the Media section, you can select it to Assign the video to a comment.
iPhone Playback Issue
We are aware of issues with video playback on iPhones specifically. This can occur when an inspector attempts to playback a video from an iPhone in the Mobile App. The inspector might encounter:
- Choppy, stuttery playback
- Blank screen
- Being kicked back to the inspection list
This does not impact the upload of the video. When encountering this issue, inspectors can view their video after syncing the report to the browser version of Web Report Writer.
Upload Video to Browser (Desktop)
Upload Video to Media
- Create an inspection report
- Click Media
- Click Add Media. Browse your computer for the video you want to use. Click on it and select Open.
- While uploading there is an Uploading bar
- To assign the video to a comment, click on the video and then the Assign button. Select the Section and item, and check the box next to the comment. When finished, click Done.
Upload Video to a Comment
- Create an inspection report
- Click System
- Select a System and click on an Item
- Scroll and click on Add Comment
- Toggle on a comment and click Done when finished
- Click Upload. Browse your computer for the video. After selecting the video click Open.
- There is an Uploading bar while uploading.
Video on the Published Report
Videos can be viewed in various contexts:
- Inspector's Report Preview: Videos can be previewed by the inspector within associated comments.
- HomeBuyer Dashboard: Videos are also accessible to clients via the HomeBuyer Dashboard.
- PDF Report: In the PDF version of the report, videos are labeled accordingly for easy identification.
