Videos can help your clients better understand what you found during the inspection. You can add videos using either the Web Report Writer mobile app or the browser version.
📱 On mobile, you can record video on the spot.
💻 On desktop, you can upload video files saved on your computer.
Before you Begin
Videos over the size or time limits below won’t appear in published reports.
- Max file size: 100MB
- Max video length: 40 seconds
- Total inspection report size must be under 500MB
- Videos can't be used for:
- Cover image
- Forms
Capturing Video on Mobile App
You can record video two ways: while writing a comment, or directly in the Media section.
Option 1: Record While Writing a Comment
- Open the Web Report Writer Mobile App
- Tap an inspection > go to Media
- Tap âž• Add Media
- Select Take Video
- Record your video
- Tap ✅ to save
Option 2: Record from the Media Section
- Open an inspection
- Go to Media > Add Media > Take Video
- Record and confirm
- Once saved, tap the video > tap Assign to link it to a comment
Upload Video to Browser (Desktop)
You can add videos from your computer in two ways.
Upload Video to Media
- Open or create an inspection report
- Click Media > Add Media
- Select a video file from your computer
- Wait for the upload bar to finish
- Click the video > Assign to a comment
Upload Directly to a Comment
- Open or create an inspection report
- Click Items, select a Section> item
- Click Add Comment
- Toggle on a comment > click Done
- Click Upload, browse for your video
- Upload and wait for confirmation
Video on the Published Report
Videos can be viewed in various contexts:
- Inspector View (Preview): Videos play inside the comment where they were added
- Customer Dashboard: Clients can watch videos from their dashboard
- PDF Report: Videos are labeled but not playable—PDFs will show a placeholder or label
