New Template Release: CCPIA Commercial Property Inspection Template
We’re excited to introduce the new Certified Commercial Property Inspectors Association (CCPIA) Commercial Template, now available in HomeGauge!
This template was developed in direct response to frequent requests from inspectors attending CCPIA training courses. We’ve connected with the CCPIA non-profit to deliver a streamlined, standards-aligned option for HomeGauge inspectors performing commercial property inspections.
Built with the ComSOP framework in mind, this Systems-first template features:
- No pre-filled comments or ratings – every field starts blank so you’re in full control.
- Multi-summary layout – organize findings by system with optional consolidation in print settings.
- Efficiency tools like “Find Unanswered” support thorough, professional reporting.

Easier Reinspection Tracking and New Photo Options
Description:
We’ve streamlined how reinspections are managed so inspectors can stay organized and spot these reports more easily. Key improvements include:
- Automatic internal labeling of reinspection reports
- A new “Reinspection” column in the Open Reports list
- New option under Publishing Options to hide overview photos in reinspections
How to use:
- Go to
Open Reports > Create Reinspection From Selected Reportto generate a reinspection. - View the new “Reinspection” column on the far-right of your Open Reports list.
- Navigate to
File > Publishing Options > Miscand use the checkbox labeled Include Overview Photos in Reinspection to manage visibility.
⚠ One-Time Notice: The first time you open the app after updating, your reports database will rebuild. This is expected and ensures new features are properly integrated.
🛠 Important for Custom Print Format Users:
Back up your custom PHP files before updating to avoid losing changes. After updating, restore them to maintain your formatting.
Resolved Issues
- Save Settings As Defaults option now functions correctly when accessed from File > Publishing Options.
- Resolved an issue where merged reports from the Companion App would overwrite the photo locker.

Enhancements
“Posted” Status Updated to “Published”
Description:
We’ve updated the “Posted” status label throughout Web Report Writer to “Published” for consistency and better clarity.
How to use: Inspectors will now see “Published” wherever the report status was previously labeled as “Posted,” aligning with the “Publish” button terminology.
