If you do not want to take advantage of the Require Payment feature, you can get your credit card service wherever you desire.
If you do want to use the Require Payment feature, you must use Online Services, have a merchant account, and use the payment gateway company Authorize.net or eProcessing Network. They currently have over 5000 merchants that you can sign up with. In addition to collecting a percentage of the amount billed, each merchant account provider typically charges a monthly fee, cancellation fee, and early termination fee, so be sure to read the fine print of the "Terms of Service" with whomever you decide to use.
HomeGauge is not a merchant account provider, so you will need to set that up separately. To get started, you will need:
- Online Services
- A merchant account. Note: This must be a "Card not present merchant account" or "Internet" type of account.
- A Payment gateway: HomeGauge works best with Authorize.Net. We also support the eProcessing Network.
- Once set up, you will need to provide HomeGauge with your API Login ID and Transaction Key. You can find these on your Authorize.Net Dashboard. More information here. You will need to e-mail these to email@example.com to get HomeGauge linked to Authorize.Net
- Once linked test your account to make sure transactions are working correctly. For more information on testing click here.
Authorize.net is a private entity which will require fees outside of HomeGauge services. Click here to look at their pricing and a portal to sign up. For any other questions regarding pricing click here to contact them directly.
