Because changing your columns or headers will affect the meaning of your report, we always suggest making these changes in a blank/new report. Open a new report before proceeding!
Add a New Inspection Item
- Navigate to the Component (e.g. Roofing) you'd like to add the Inspection Item to.
- Click the orange plus Add T button from the toolbar near the top of the screen.
- Enter the name for the new inspection item. Optional: check the Exclude By Default box if you want this item to be excluded in future reports.
- Click OK. The inspection item will appear below the other inspection items.
- Use the Up T and Down T buttons in the toolbar to adjust the position of the new inspection item. Items will renumber themselves automatically.
- Save the template by clicking Save T in the toolbar or clicking File > Save Template.
Edit an Existing Inspection Item
- Navigate to the inspection item you want to edit. Click to highlight it.
- Click the wrench/Edit T button from the toolbar near the top of the screen.
- Edit the name for the inspection item. Optional: check the Exclude By Default box if you want this item to be excluded in future reports.
- Click OK.
- Use the Up T and Down T buttons in the toolbar to adjust the position of the new inspection item. Items will renumber themselves automatically.
- Save the template by clicking Save T in the toolbar or clicking File > Save Template.
Delete an Existing Inspection Item
- Navigate to the inspection item you want to edit. Click to highlight it.
- Click the red X/Delete T button from the toolbar near the top of the screen. Say OK to the warning. The inspection item is now gone.
- Save the template by clicking Save T in the toolbar or clicking File > Save Template.
Copy and Paste an Existing Inspection Item
- Navigate to the inspection item you want to edit. Click to highlight it.
- Click the Copy T button.
- Navigate to the Component were you would like add the copied inspection item.
- Click the Paste T button. The inspection item will be added to the bottom of the inspection item list and can be moved by using the Up T and Down T buttons.
- Save the template by clicking Save T in the toolbar or clicking File > Save Template.
Copy and Paste Has Multiple Uses
Copying and pasting inspection items is a great way to put a copy in a new location. But it has other effects too:- Copy/pasted inspection items keep all their associated auto-comments. Use this to your advantage instead of adding new inspection items with the same name.
- Use the copy/paste feature to add a new inspection item to a Component that has all the auto-comments of a different inspection item.
- Copy and paste the inspection item using the instructions above.
- Edit the inspection item to rename it. After it's renamed, it'll have the auto-comments from the item you originally copied.

- Navigate to the inspection item you want to edit. Click to highlight it.
- Use the Up T and Down T buttons in the toolbar to adjust the position of the new inspection item. Items will renumber themselves automatically.
- Save the template by clicking Save T in the toolbar or clicking File > Save Template.
