When creating or modifying your inspection report template, it's crucial to organize your inspection items effectively. The order, names, and properties of these items can significantly impact the clarity and quality of your report. Here's a guide on how to add, edit, delete, copy, paste, and reposition inspection items in your report template.
Add a New Inspection Item
- Navigate to the Component (e.g. Roofing) you want to add the Inspection Item to.
- Click the Add T button from the toolbar near the top of the screen.
- Enter the name of the new inspection item. Optional: check the Exclude By Default box if you want this item to be excluded in future reports.
- Click OK. The inspection item will appear below the other inspection items.
- Use the Up T and Down T buttons in the toolbar to adjust the position of the new inspection item. Items will be renumbered automatically.
- Save the template by clicking Save T in the toolbar
Edit an Existing Inspection Item
- Navigate to the inspection item you want to edit. Click to highlight it.
- Click the Edit T button from the toolbar near the top of the screen.
- Edit the name of the inspection item. Optional: check the Exclude By Default box if you want this item to be excluded in future reports.
- Click OK
- Use the Up T and Down T buttons in the toolbar to adjust the position of the new inspection item. Items will be renumbered automatically.
- Save the template by clicking Save T in the toolbar
Delete an Existing Inspection Item
- Navigate to the inspection item you want to edit. Click to highlight it.
- Click the Delete T button from the toolbar near the top of the screen. Say OK to the warning. The inspection item is now gone.
- Save the template by clicking Save T
Copy and Paste an Existing Inspection Item
- Navigate to the inspection item you want to edit. Click to highlight it.
- Click the Copy T button.
- Navigate to the Component were you would like add the copied inspection item.
- Click the Paste T button. The inspection item will be added to the bottom of the inspection item list and can be moved by using the Up T and Down T buttons.
- Save the template by clicking Save T
Copy and Paste Has Multiple Uses
Copying and pasting inspection items offer various advantages:

Preserve Auto-Comments: Copied items retain their associated auto-comments. This can save time compared to adding new inspection items with the same name.

Transfer Auto-Comments: Copy an inspection item, rename it, and it will inherit the auto-comments from the original item.
