HomeGauge Terms of Use requires that third party agreement language be disclosed to customers to help protect you, your customer and HomeGauge (a Third Party) from potential legal issues involving the customer and their data. This disclosure informs home buyers and clients that their information is stored by a third party as agreed to in the HomeGauge Terms.
For this reason, HomeGauge will notify you if you have not selected a method by which your customers understand the role HomeGauge has in their report delivery. When logging into your HomeGauge Dashboard, you may see the following:

HomeGauge demands that either third party agreement language be included in your pre-inspection agreement or that individuals be prompted to agree to the disclosure when logging in for the first time. When first seeing this, you have 30 days to make a selection. If a selection is not made in that time than HomeGauge will default to showing a prompt upon logging in. Click the link displayed to manage that setting.
How to Update Your Agreement with Third Party Disclosure
Adding third party agreement language is simple. This video will instruct you on how to add it to your pre-inspection agreement.
Updating your agreement with a third party disclosure ensures that your buyers know that their information is securely stored in HomeGauge.
You now need to update your Third Party Agreement Disclosure settings. Within the HomeGauge Dashboard, click either the link in the above shown notice box or click Company Options > Account Settings. There is a section asking you to confirm witch option you prefer to offer to your customers.
If you've confirmed that you've made the change: thanks! You're done and everyone is more informed about where information is stored.
If you haven't yet, you'll notice a date to make that change, or you'll be able to choose "Do it for me" and have HomeGauge prompt your buyers with this message:
HomeGauge (that's us) is a 3rd party in the home inspection report process that is utilized by your home inspector to record and store your information. Your information will be kept private unless your home inspector has offered you other programs as a benefit to you.
You'll have another 30 days to confirm you have included third party language in your inspection or choose to have us display this information to your buyer. If you do not make a selection after 30 days, we'll default to informing your buyers that their information is securely stored in HomeGauge with the message above.
Thanks for taking these steps to ensure that all buyers are informed where their information is stored, and if you have any questions about these changes please check out the FAQ or email us at terms@homegauge.com
