Once you finish writing a report with the companion, the report needs to be transferred to the Desktop Report Writer to finalize and send out to customers. This article will guide you through the preferred Cloud transfer and manually if needed. 

Transferring via Cloud

Using the HG Cloud (part of the HG Services), you can easily transfer reports between computers and devices without the hassle of manually copying files.

1. Open the Report you want to send if it isn't already opened
2. Click HG Services > Send Current Report to Cloud. S
3. On the Desktop Report Writer, go to HG Services > Get Report from Cloud. Select the report and click download.
4. Go to Open Reports, select the report, and click Open. 

Manually Transferring via iTunes

To retrieve a report from an iOS companion, you must have iTunes installed.

1. Plug your device into your computer via USB
2. Open iTunes on your computer
3. Click the icon for the device in the upper left corner of iTunes
   
4. Click File Sharing on the left menu
   
5. Click HomeGauge Companion in the Apps column
6. Then click the folder labeled HomeGauge in the Documents column
7. Click the button in the lower right that says "Save..."
   
   
8. Save the folder to an easily accessible location on your computer, such as the desktop. This will save the entire HomeGauge folder from your iOS device.
9. You can now open the folder you downloaded from the device.
10. Click and open the Reports sub-folder.
11. Copy the folder for the report you need.
    
    
    
12. Paste the copied report folder into Documents/Homegauge/Reports (not the same HomeGauge folder you just downloaded; this is the HomeGauge folder that your regular software reads from in your Documents folder).
    
13. Open the software, click Open then Refresh Database. You can now open the report you downloaded from your iOS device.
    
14. Once the report is open, click Save. 
15. Once complete, you can remove the HomeGauge folder you created in Step 8 from your Desktop.
