What is Active Homeowner?
Active Homeowner is a completely free and optional email list, offered to our Extra Care Inspectors' Buyers. Home Buyers who opt-in will receive promotional offers via email tailored to where the Home Buyer is within their home-buying journey.
What will Active Homeowner email my customer about?
Working with a portfolio of trusted regional and national brands, Active Homeowner will cultivate packages of value for Home Buyers as they move through their homeownership journey. These packages currently are:
- Repair and Prepare
- Moving In
- Protect your Investment
- Getting Settled
Examples of the offers within these packages are:
- Coupons to repair the windows on your new home
- Connecting the home buyer with a local handyman
- Finding the Home Buyer the best deals on moving services in their area
- Help facilitate TV and Internet set up
- Affordable deals on a first year home warranty
- Welcome to the neighborhood! $10 off at your local hardware store
Are you going to spam my customers?
We realize that people already receive too many emails. We also realize that in order to build a successful email product we must stand out by providing quality content and relevant offers without sending emails every day. Active Homeowner has defined a communication calendar that brings relevant content or offers to the Home Buyer every week for the first 6 weeks after they opt-in to receive communications. However, this could ebb and flow with seasonal-based offers.
How can Home Buyers stop receiving communication?
Emails coming from Active Homeowner will include a clear link for your customers to unsubscribe. They may also manage their account settings from the HomeGauge Privacy Center at https://www.homegauge.com/privacy-center
Do you require my Home Buyers to sign up for this?
No! We build privacy and consent into all of our Home Buyer programs. Home Buyers must explicitly opt-in to receive any email communication from Active Homeowner. Just like our homeowners insurance offer, if the Home Buyer does not choose to opt-in, they will never be contacted by us.

Can an Inspector prevent the Active Homeowner offer from being displayed to their Home Buyers?
As of now, Inspectors cannot choose which offers are displayed to their Home Buyers. However, this is something that we would like to explore Inspectors’ interest in. If this is a feature you’d like to see as part of your involvement in Extra Care, you can email the Product team directly at productfeedback@homegauge.com.
How do I cancel Extra Care?
You can find out more about Extra Care and how to opt-out here: HomeGauge Extra Care. Please note that by opting out of Extra Care, you are forfeiting all of its benefits, including:
- Extra Care website badge
- Help with marketing Assets
- Private access to training at our HomeGauge TOGETHER conference and exclusive learning experiences throughout the year
- Early access to new software features and programs across the HomeGauge product suite (e.g. beta testing and focus groups, extended support hours)
- Access for your Home Buyers to value add programs and exclusive offers
