Follow these steps to set up your new employee's software :
1. Install HomeGauge Desktop Software onto the new inspector's computer:
- Click this link to get the HomeGauge Desktop Software installer.
HomeGauge 5 Desktop Software Install - Sign in to the dashboard if prompted.
- Click the Download Install HomeGauge button.
- Once it has completed downloading, click on the HomeGauge5Install.exe file, and the installer will begin.
- Follow the installer prompts and click to continue each step.
- When finished, the software will automatically open.
2. Activate the assigned software License Key in the new inspector's name:
- The license key was emailed to the inspector when we created the account.
- With the software open, navigate to the top toolbar Options > Inspector and License.
- Add the Inspector Name, Company Name, Contact, and the License Key
- Click Activate >Yes
- Close the software by clicking the X at the top right
- Re-open the software to complete this process.
3. Restore Other HG User Settings onto the new inspector's computer:
- Make sure to have a recent backup of another user's HG User Settings before this step. Typically the owner, manager, or lead inspector will use their HG User Settings back up. Click this link for instructions on getting a fresh back if you need it! How to Back Up Your HomeGauge5 User Settings
- On the new inspector's computer, with the HomeGauge software open, navigate to the top toolbar HG Services > Restore Other HG User Settings > YES > Restore from Other Cloud
- Add the User Name and Password for the user account you are restoring the backup from (ex: the owner, manager, lead, etc.) and click OK (the files will download)
- After download, click OK.
4. Add the User Name and Password for the new inspector to the software:
- With the software open, navigate to the top toolbar HG Services > Enter Inspector HG User Name
- Enter the new inspector's User Name and Password, check the Always Remember box, and click ok (You can add this information at any point).
- User Names are emailed to the inspector with the License Key email at account set up.

The new inspector's computer should have the same templates, logos, print formats, and style as the account used for the restore.
