Release Notes 12/05/2022 - Desktop 5.5.4.0

HomeGauge Desktop 5.5.4.0 introduces a variety of fixes and improvements to the user experience.

To download this update, we suggest shutting down your current software before installing the new version from your inspector dashboard by clicking Install HG 5 from the left-hand navigation menu.

Alternatively, you can click Help > Check for Updates. You may receive an error that requires you to select Retry to move forward with the installation. If an error occurs around updating your fonts, hit Skip to continue, as we did not make any changes in that area.

Issue: Email input when creating username did not trim whitespace and resulted in an error
Solution: When entering or pasting an email address while editing a contact, blank spaces will be removed automatically to prevent errors

Issue: Double-clicking hyperlinks to edit them did not display the editable URL
Solution: You can now double click a hyperlink and edit the URL

Issue: Quotes used in a client's name are displayed as code on the report itself
Solution: Quotations within a client’s name are displayed correctly on the finished report

Issue: When adding large numbers of photos to a report, a memory leak could occur causing the software to close or resulting in blank photos
Solution: Fixed memory leaks to help improve software stability when adding photos and video

Issue: Drawing multiple shapes or annotations in the photo editor individually takes a long time and results in unequal shape sizes
Solution: New enhancement allows users to copy and paste annotations by right-clicking shapes, arrows, and text. This feature does not work with overlay images.

• Use right-click to copy and paste shapes, arrows, and text
• Use the select tool to copy and paste multiple annotations at once
• Copy annotations to the clipboard and paste them on additional photos
