creating complex cover page
I'd like to create a fairly complex cover page with different fonts, text in color blocks, etc.. I see that the cover page template is just HTML with references to the merge fields, are there limitations to what HTML I can put in there? This is for the desktop writer, if there are differences between the two platforms.

A cover page will have several factors for styling. You can have styling in the cover page itself like in the example of cover-clean-style.
And might also have styling rules from the Format & Style you use. For example PrintFormats/Format6 Blue
I would recommend getting a cover page close to what you think might be done. Then attaching it to your Print Document and then previewing in HomeGauge. After previewing in HomeGauge, navigate to the report folder in HomeGauge/Reports and open the report folder and open the HTML page for that report in a web browser.
From there you can right click and use dev tools to inspect the web page and see which styles are working and which are not. You can edit on the web page as well before having to go back to the HTML cover page and making your changes.
You may at the end find that some modern CSS and HTML styling does not work with HomeGauge as well. -
That's very helpful, thank you. I didn't actually expect CSS support, so hopefully that will help get me closer to what I'm trying to accomplish.
