How do I create a username for my client/REP so I can send the report and other documents using HG Services?


Using HG Services to distribute your reports is easy (and super smart), but the customer/REP must have a way to access the document. Creating a username and password for them is simple and happens directly from your HG software!

In order to use this feature  you must have an active HG Services account and be logged in to the HG software.

Creating a customer username:

  1. Open the HG software and enter the customer’s name on the Customer Info Page.
  2. Under Customer's Primary Email Address type the email that belongs to this customer (double check spelling).
    *IMPORTANT NOTE:
    HomeGauge usernames are created from individual email addresses. 

    DO NOT use a username to represent more than one customer. 
    DO NOT insert emails that belong to someone else under that customer.  Instead, use the 'Add Customer' button if you have a husband and wife or multiple customers on one inspection. 
  3. Lower down on the screen there is a button that reads Create HG Username, click on it.
  4. A box will pop up asking if you would like to create a username or to leave the field blank for HG to create one for you – leave the field blank and click OK.
  5. You will get a message that the customer account was created; click OK.
  6. The username will appear in the field to the left of the Create HG Username button.

If you have more than one customer – EVEN IF THEY ARE SPOUSES – use the Add Customer button at the top right to add their info. Do this even if they did not provide you with an email for the additional person. *Each client should have his/her own customer info page.

 

Creating a REP username:

  1. With the HG software open, navigate to the Report Info section of the report
  2. Click on the Contacts tab on the right pane – the icon has three people on it.
  3. Select the icon with the person in the white shirt with the green plus sign. A box will open titles Contact Info.
  4. Type in the REP’s name and company info.
  5. Click on the tab called HG User Name.
  6. 6.      On this screen, type in the email (always double check spelling) of the REP and click Create Username.
  7. A box will pop up asking if you would like to create a username or to leave the field blank for HG to create one for you – leave the field blank and click OK.
  8. You will get a message that the REP account was created; click OK.
  9. Click OK again and you will see the REP’s name show up highlighted in blue on the right.
  10. With the name highlighted, click on the Add from REPs list button on the Report Info screen.

Now you have created usernames for your customer/REP and you can move on to distributing the agreement and/or building the report. Nice work!
