How do I add a customer/ client in the HomeGauge Software?


There are a few of different ways to add a customer in the HomeGauge software.

To start a report from scratch in the software:

1) With your HomeGauge Software open, click on the Customer tab on the left hand margin.
2) For your first customer, fill out the information.
IMPORTANT NOTE: HomeGauge usernames are created from email addresses.
-DO NOT use a username to represent more than one customer.
-DO NOT insert emails that belong to someone else under that customer.  Instead, use the 'Add Customer' button if you have a husband and wife or multiple customers on one inspection.
3) When the customer information and that customer's email are filled in click Create Username. Leave this next field blank and HomeGauge will create a username for you. Usernames typically are the customer's first and last name and a number.
4) REMEMBER, if you have more than one customer click the Add Customer button! Do not create a Mr. and Mrs. Smith account. Each customer needs his or her own username.

To import a Customer's information from your online Appointment manager/Dashboard:
1) Starting online, create the appointment or add a new Agreement. You will need a date and time for this function to work.
2) Once that appointment is created, open your HomeGauge software and click on HG Services.
3) Choose Download Online Appointments. This will open up choices for appointments to download.
4) Select which appointments you want to download by putting an X in front of them.
5) Click Download.
6) You can now open that report from the Open file folder and go from there.
7) When creating appointments to download, the same rules apply:
-DO NOT use a username to represent more than one customer.
-DO NOT insert emails that belong to someone else under that customer.
-Use the 'Add Customer' button if you have a husband and wife or multiple customers for your report.

To import an appointment from ISN:
1) Make sure you have set up your pathway to ISN.
2) In the software, click on HG Services.
3) Select Download Online Appointments.
4) Select which appointments you want to download by putting an X in front of them.
5) Click Download.
6) You can now open that report from the Open file folder.
7) IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ISN:
    ISN has their own way of creating customers and Report IDs. To make these work with the HomeGauge software make sure you are doing the following:
    -If you have more than one customer or a husband and wife, be sure to separate these out and create seperate usernames for them using the Add Customer button. (HomeGauge DOES NOT like the "&" symbol.)
    -Be sure on the Report ID that ISN creates that there is not a period at the end.

These are the three ways you can add Customers in HomeGauge.
