Upload Report and Send Notifications

Upload the Report

  1. If the report to be uploaded is not yet open, open that report.
  2. Create usernames for the customers.
    1. On the left of the HomeGauge window, click the Customer section bar.
    2. Enter the customer's email address.
    3. Click Create HG Username.
    4. Leave the box blank and click OK. If the customer already has an account with that email address, HomeGauge will find that account. Otherwise, HomeGauge will create a new account.
    5. Repeat these steps for each customer before proceeding.
  3. Click Upload in the toolbar near the top of the screen.
  4. Check the box next to the appropriate Print Document Setting, then click OK. Most inspectors use the option Full Report for Upload or Print with Pictures.
  5. Review your report and click OK when you're ready to proceed. The report will upload.

  6. After the upload, HomeGauge will prompt you to Send Notifications. Click Yes to be sent to the Dashboard. Instructions for sending notifications are below.

Send Reports with a Different Cover Page

For example, you can have separate cover pages for regular inspections, mold inspections, and re-inspections.
  1. Follow the instructions for Create a Print Document with a Different Cover Page at this link (click here).
  2. Follow the usual upload process, selecting your new Document Setting when prompted.

Send Notifications to Customers and Realtors

  1. Log into your HomeGauge Dashboard (in your HomeGauge software, click HG Services > My HomeGauge Dashboard).
  2. Find the report you would like to send notifications for. Newly uploaded reports are near the top of the report list.
  3. Underneath the property address, click the blue Send Emails link to open the Send Email Notifications page.
  4. The customers and realtors will be listed.
    • Put checks in the boxes in the Send Email? column next to the people you would like to receive the email.
    • Put checks in the boxes in the View? column to next to people who should have viewing permissions.
    • Put checks in the boxes in the Forward? column to next to people who should have forwarding permissions.
  5. Click the gray Send Emails button, or optionally scroll down to preview the email that will go out. Clicking Send Emails will complete the send notification process. 

Send the Report to a 3rd Party

Because this method does not give the 3rd party a username and password, report delivery can't be tracked. Do not use this as the primary way to share the report.

  1. Log into your HomeGauge Dashboard (in your HomeGauge software, click HG Services > My HomeGauge Dashboard).
  2. Find the report you would like to send notifications for. Newly uploaded reports are near the top of the report list.
  3. Click the Viewing tab just above the report.
  4. Click 3rd Party Email to open the Send a third party email page.
  5. Type a password into the Password field. The recipient will use this to access the report. If there's already a password in this field, do not change it.
  6. Enter one or more email addresses in the To field. Multiple addresses can be separated by commas.
  7. Scroll to the bottom and click the gray Send Email and Set Password button to complete the task.  

Upload a Document Manually

  1. Log into your HomeGauge Dashboard (in your HomeGauge software, click HG Services > My HomeGauge Dashboard).
  2. Find the report you would like to add the document to.
  3. Click Manage > Manual Upload.
  4. Follow the directions on the next page.
  5. When everything is filled out, click Upload to complete the upload process.
  6. If you have already sent notifications, you may want to resend the notifications to let the Customer and REP know that you've added something.

Upload Your PhotoLocker

To save your pictures in the HomeGauge Dashboard, you can upload the PhotoLocker along with the report. You may want to include all pictures in the PhotoLocker before uploading.

  • To upload the PhotoLocker:
    1. Click File > Printing Options.
    2. Click the Misc tab near the top of the window.
    3. Near the bottom-right, check the box labeled Upload Photo Locker.
    4. Click OK to exit the Print Options window.
    5. Follow the usual upload process (instructions above).
  • To include all pictures in the PhotoLocker before uploading:
    1. In the HomeGauge software, navigate to the Pictures pane on the right.
    2. Click the 4 red boxes icon to select all pictures.
    3. Click the orange inbox icon with the plus above it to add all photos to the Photolocker.
