Inspector Dashboard: Setup your HomeGauge Profile and Contact Information

Your HomeGauge Dashboard serves as your command center for managing your profile and personalizing your HomeGauge experience. From updating your email address to personalizing your Company Profile, we're here to guide you through every step.

Let's take a closer look at how you can make the most of your profile customization:

Navigating to Your Inspector Profile Settings

  1. Log in to your HomeGauge Dashboard.

  2. In the left-hand menu, click Settings > Inspector Profile.

Changing Your Email Address

The email displayed to your customers can differ from the email associated with your HomeGauge account.

If you need to update the email address shown to your customers, follow these steps:

  1. Click Edit in the Profile section.

  2. Scroll down, change your email in the appropriate field, scroll to the bottom, and click Save.

If you need to update the email address associated with your HomeGauge account, follow these steps:

  1. In the left-hand menu, click Settings > Account.

  2. Click Edit in the Contact Info section.

  3. Change your email in the appropriate field, scroll to the bottom, and click Save.

Adding and Editing Your Inspector Profile Contact Information

To modify the contact information displayed to your customers on your Company Profile page, follow these steps:

  1. Click Settings > Inspector Profile

  2. Click Edit at the top of the Profile section

  3. From here, you can edit the contact information that displays on your Company Profile page.

  4. To save your edits, scroll to the bottom of the slide-out and click Save

Public Information

If you would like your company to display when customers search for a HomeGauge inspector, toggle 'Show Profile in search results'.

Adding Your Company Logo

Your logo is used in various places, including the inspector search results, your Company Profile, and contact information on the Customer Dashboard.

To add your company logo, follow these steps:

  1. Click Edit at the top of the Profile section

  2. Scroll down and click Add Logo (Note: Your logo must be JPG or GIF format and less than 2mb in size.)

  3. In the File Explorer window, locate your logo.

  4. You will be prompted to crop the image. Click and drag the edges to resize the selection.

  5. When you're finished, click Crop & Save

  6. To save your edits, scroll to the bottom of the slide-out and click Save

Adding an Inspector Photo

Enhance your Company Profile page by adding a personal touch with your photo:

  1. Click Edit at the top of the Profile section

  2. Scroll down and click Add Photo (Note: This photo must be JPG or GIF format and less than 2mb in size.)

  3. In the File Explorer window, locate your photo.

  4. You will be prompted to crop the image. Click and drag the edges to resize the selection.

  5. When you're finished, click Crop & Save

  6. To save your edits, scroll to the bottom of the slide-out and click Save

Adding an Organization Logo

If you would like to add an organization logo or an additional picture to your Company Profile page, follow these steps:

  1. Click Edit at the top of the Profile section

  2. Scroll down and click Add Photo (Note: This image must be JPG or GIF format and less than 2mb in size.)

  3. In the File Explorer window, locate your photo.

  4. You will be prompted to crop the image. Click and drag the edges to resize the selection.

  5. When you're finished, click Crop & Save

  6. To save your edits, scroll to the bottom of the slide-out and click Save

Qualifications, Short Description, and Listing Text

This information will be displayed on your Company Profile, and can be used to tell customers why you're the right choice for their inspection.

If you would like to customize this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Edit next to the text you want to customize.

  2. Add your text in the slide-out field.

  3. When you're finished, click Save.

If you choose not to customize this text, the following will be displayed by default:

Adding Social Network Links to Your Profile

Want your customers to find you on social media?

To connect your social media accounts to your profile, follow these steps:

  1. Click Edit at the top of the Social Media section.

  2. In another tab or window, go to the social media account you want to add, and copy the URL, excluding the https:// (Example: www.facebook.com/HomeGauge/)

  3. Go back to your Dashboard, and paste the URL into the appropriate field.

  4. When you're finished, click Save.

Add or Update the Counties You Service

When customers search for inspectors in a specific county, all inspectors with coverage in that area appear in the results. By default, you're listed for the county matching your business zip code. You can add or remove counties at any time.

  1. Click Add County Coverage in the County Listing section

  2. Click on a state​

  3. Check the boxes of the counties you'd like to add.

  4. When you're finished, click Save.

To edit an existing state's county list:

  1. Click Edit, Remove, or Add County Coverage

Changing Your Username and Password

For account security, consider changing your login information regularly.

When you change your username and password, you will need to update your login info in both the Desktop Report Writer and HG Companion app.

  • In Desktop Report Writer, go to HG Services > Enter Inspector HG Username.

  • In Companion, click the menu button in the upper right > HG Services > Username and Password.

  1. Click Settings > Account.

  2. Click Edit to the right of either your username or password.

    1. To change your username, type your new username in the field and click Save.

    2. To change your password, type your new password in both fields and click Save. (Note: passwords must be 8 to 20 characters in length, contain at least one uppercase and one lowercase letter.)

  • A secure password is typically at least 12 to 16 characters long, includes a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters, and does not contain easily guessable information, such as names or birthdays.

  • It's advisable to refrain from using passwords that you also use for other accounts.

  • Changing your password regularly can help keep your account as secure as possible.

  • Never share your password with anyone.

If you see the error 'The username specified is already in use,' the username you typed is already associated with another account.

If you see the error Password does not match. The password in the second field does not match the password in the first field.
