Understanding Multi-Inspector Roles

In a Multi Inspector Company on HomeGauge, there are three distinct roles with varying permissions, along with the Team Leader, who holds additional privileges. Let's take a closer look at each role:

Owners:

  1. The oldest owner is the Team leader. There can only be one Team Leader in the company.

  2. The Team Leader account is used to set preferences for the entire company, such as Notification Templates, Agreement Templates, Inspection services, and company information.

  3. Owners can do all of the same things as Managers

Managers:

  1. Dashboard Access: Managers gain access to all inspectors' reports and document uploads on the Dashboard. They can seamlessly switch between inspectors, mirroring the company owner's viewing capabilities.

  2. Appointment Settings: Managers can edit, add, or delete appointments on the company calendar. They also have the authority to modify appointment emails and notifications for the entire team, excluding TRM and Report emails, which remain non-editable for Managers.

  3. Company Agreements and Services: Managers can edit and add new company agreements and services, streamlining the process of offering diverse inspection options to clients.

  4. Company Settings: Managers can edit Company Settings, allowing them to fine-tune the platform to match your company's evolving needs.

  5. Calendar Sharing: Managers can oversee and manage calendar sharing, facilitating better coordination among team members.

  6. Cloud Transfers and Upload/Email Options: Managers enjoy access to company cloud transfers and various upload/email options, promoting efficient data sharing and communication.

Inspectors:

  1. Dashboard Access: Inspectors can only access and manage the reports they uploaded on the Dashboard.

  2. Appointment Access: Inspectors can only view and book their own appointments. They can set up their Schedule Now Tim Slots, Sync their Google Calendar, and set up receiving Text Message Alerts.

  3. Cloud Transfers: Inspectors can only manage their reports uploaded to the cloud and can only see their templates in the cloud.

  4. Account Settings: Inspectors can access Account Contact, License, Services, HomeGauge Partners, Edit Report Emails, and Upload Email Options.

Changing an Employee's Role

To update an employee's role, don't hesitate to contact HomeGauge Support. Our dedicated support team will guide you through the process, making the transition seamless for your valued employee.

Replacing an Inspector's Account

If an inspector is leaving and you want to assign their role to someone else, note that accounts are not transferable to new individuals. Instead, follow the steps below to manage this transition:

  1. Cancel the Departing Inspector’s Account: Log into your administrator or owner account and deactivate the inspector account tied to the departing inspector.

  2. Create a New Account for the Replacement Inspector: Set up a new account specifically for the incoming inspector. This helps maintain accurate roles and permissions within the system.

Transferring Ownership of a Company Account

If ownership of a company account needs to be transferred to someone else, the following steps should be taken:

  1. Contact the Current Owner: The current owner must provide written confirmation of the ownership transfer by reaching out to HomeGauge support directly.

  2. Notify HomeGauge: Once the current owner verifies their intention to transfer ownership, they can notify HomeGauge to add the new individual as an inspector and assign them as the new company owner.

  3. Set Up the New Owner’s Account: HomeGauge will assist in configuring the account for the new owner with the appropriate permissions and access rights.
