This article explains how to prevent Android battery optimization from interfering with the HomeGauge Companion app. By excluding HomeGauge Companion from battery optimization, you ensure the app runs smoothly in the background during inspections and can sync data properly.

Why Battery Optimization Matters for HomeGauge Companion

Android devices use battery optimization features to extend battery life by limiting how apps run in the background. While this saves battery, it can prevent HomeGauge Companion from:

  • Syncing photos and data in the background

  • Receiving important notifications

  • Maintaining connection to your inspection reports

  • Running properly during multi-hour inspections

By excluding HomeGauge Companion from battery optimization, you ensure the app has the permissions it needs to function correctly during your inspections.
