Creating reports that make a strong visual impact is essential in today's business world. Your report's style and format are crucial in conveying information effectively and leaving a lasting impression on your audience. Follow these simple steps to tailor the style and format of your report:
From the software top-level menu, click File > Publishing Options
Click the Style & Format tab near the top of the window.
Choose the Format you would like. The preview window displays what it would look like.
Choose the Style you would like from below. The preview window shows what it would look like
Click OK at the bottom of the window to save changes.
If photos still appear small after adjusting settings
After changing the Style & Format, some inspectors find that photo thumbnail sizes in the published report don't change as expected. If you've adjusted thumbnail width or default picture size settings and photos still appear small, try these steps:
Close and reopen the report in HomeGauge Desktop, then republish. Style and size changes sometimes require a full report reload to take effect.
Check your display scaling in Windows: go to Settings > Display > Scale and layout. If your Windows display is set above 100% scaling (e.g. 125% or 150%), HomeGauge's photo sizing controls can behave unexpectedly. Try setting display scale to 100% temporarily to confirm.
If a photo text box cannot be dragged or resized, right-click the photo and select Photo Properties to adjust dimensions numerically rather than by dragging.
If the issue persists after these steps, contact HomeGauge support — some photo sizing behavior is tied to template engine constraints that cannot be overridden through the standard editor.
Moving or repositioning photo text boxes
If dragging a photo text box is blocked (the cursor shows but the box won't move), this is usually caused by the photo being anchored to a fixed position in the template. Right-click the photo and look for a 'Position' or 'Layout' option to adjust placement numerically. If no such option is available, the photo position is fixed by the template structure and cannot be changed without rebuilding the template section.
