How it works:
When enrolled in the HomeGauge Protect program, the inspector's home inspection report is backed by a guarantee for the Homebuyer. This is not a service you add to your invoice but rather an added benefit that comes with the reports you provide!
After uploading an inspection to your HG Dashboard, a HomeGauge Protect inspection guarantee will automatically be activated for that address. Within a few moments, you will receive an email confirmation. The Homebuyer is then notified three days AFTER your report is uploaded.

HomeGauge Protect Plans
HG Protect 30 - The customer is covered for 30 days after close.
HG Protect 100 - The customer is covered for 100 days after the inspection or 30 days after closing, whichever is later.
Both plans can be extended by the homebuyer with Protect Plus warranty.

The Homebuyer will receive an email notification about their HomeGauge Protect Inspection Guarantee ~3 days after their Inspection Report has been uploaded. That email contains their Terms & Conditions, a Coverage document, their plan ID, and a login link. Once logged in, the Homebuyer can use that portal to submit claims and have access to a dedicated support team if they need any further assistance.
The HomeGauge Protect Inspection Guarantee can lasts for 30 or 100 days depending on which plan they are enrolled in. Here are the landing pages for HomeGauge Protect that include useful information for the Homebuyer. These can be provided to the Homebuyer during the inspection process.

Additionally, here is a direct link to the HG Protect Claims Portal the Homebuyer will use to log in, make and track their claims. The Claims Portal is also where they will enter the relevant information to receive payment on approved claims. Homebuyers will access these benefits as soon as they are notified of their HomeGauge Protect Inspection Guarantee.

There are no deductibles or administrative fees for your customers to use this product.

Customers can choose their professional for repairs – no approvals needed!

There are no age limits on appliances.

Your customers can access a simple-to-use portal and claims process that includes instant approval and expert support if needed.

Reimbursement will be transferred to their bank account securely within five business days.

There is no limit on how many claims they can submit during the coverage period, just a limit of up to $2,500 in aggregate payouts.
Protect Plus Warranty
Homebuyers now have the option to extend with Protect Plus Warranty! As HomeGauge Protect comes to an end, they will be offered Protect Plus via email!
Homebuyers can extend their coverage with our comprehensive Protect Plus Home Warranty plan, and you’ll earn an extra $40 for each new enrollment!

Returning a Plan
If the inspected property is not a good fit for HomeGauge Protect (pre-listing inspection, new construction. etc.) you have the option to return. There will be a “Return Form” link in each confirmation email. To fill out the Return Form, click on the link and follow the 3-step process, which includes verifying homebuyer information and the reason for the return.

Optimizing Report Writer Desktop Print Settings
This is only needed if you frequently inspect and upload non-residential inspection reports. This includes commercial inspections, pre-construction, or if you're trying to provide a form that was filled out in the MISC section of our software. The HomeGauge software comes pre-loaded with alternate Print Options for other types of inspections; this is just a deeper dive into how to adjust and customize these options for your convenience.
When an Inspection Report is uploaded to your HG Dashboard for an address for the first time, a HomeGauge Protect Inspection Guarantee is automatically provisioned. If you frequently upload other inspection report types (i.e., 4-point or wind mitigation inspections) from our Report Writer Desktop software, you can edit your Upload/Print Options and select a different "Upload Document Type" other than "Inspection Report."
