Note: In multi-inspector forms, admin level users will be able to create links to share the calendar for specific users or for the entire company. Inspectors will be able to create links to share only to their own calendar. You can create multiple sharing links for each third party application or person you share your calendar with so if you need to revoke access later you can easily do so.
Share Your Appointments to Google Calendar
- Login to the HomeGauge Dashboard and navigate to Appointments > Calendar Sharing.
- You'll be taken to the Google Calendar Sync page. Click Authorize Access to Your Google Calendar. You'll be prompted to log in with your Google account if you are not already logged in to complete the authorization.
- When complete, you'll see some information about the calendar sync, as well as a way to change your Time Zone.
- Choose your name, another inspector in your company or All Inspectors (only the appointments of the selected inspector will be synced.)
- Create a new calendar to share it to, or choose an existing one. Note: We do not recommend using your Primary Calendar unless this is all you'll use that calendar for. Otherwise, there will be no way to delete this calendar with deleting any other items in your personal calendar. Instead we recommend creating a new calendar with your inspection company name or inspector name.
- Click Share to this calendar.
- Note: New or edited Appointments may take up to 2 minutes to sync to Google.
Need to switch which Google account you're sharing to? To do this you can revoke the permissions your current Gmail account has and assign those permissions to the new one. To do this, follow these steps:
- Ensure that you are logged into the Gmail account that your Appointment calendar currently shares to.
- From your Dashboard, click Appointments > Calendar Sharing.
- At the bottom of this page you'll see a link that says Manage Access at Google. Click that link or (click here).
- A Google page will load showing all of your current permissions. Look for HomeGauge Appointments and click it to expand it.
- Click the Remove Access button.
- Log out of this Google account, and log in to the Google account you want your Appointments to share to.
- Navigate away from and back to the Appointments > Calendar Sharing page again, or refresh it. You'll potentially see an error message on this page, but will now see an option to Authorize Access to your Google Calendar. Click that button.
- You'll be asked to confirm that you want to allow HomeGauge Appointments to have access to your calendar. Double check that you are logged in as the account you want to share to, and confirm to authorize.
Now you can choose an existing calendar or create a new one (recommended) and click Share to this Calendar.
Share Your Appointments to Microsoft Outlook
To share your appointments with Microsoft Outlook, you'll need to use our old Calendar Share method.
- Login to the HomeGauge Dashboard and navigate to Appointments > Calendar Sharing.
- In the Note section of the page, click the link to the old Calendar Sharing feature.
- On this page you'll find information and instructions on how to set up the calendar share.
Share Your Appointments to iCal (iOS device)
Following the below steps on your iOS devices makes it easier for you. By following on your iOS device, you can copy and paste the long URL instead of having to type it out.
- Log in to the Dashboard and navigate to Appointments > Calendar Sharing
- Click Create Calendar Access to create a URL for calendar sharing
- Select the entire URL and Copy
- Open Settings on your iOS device
- Click on Calendar on the left side
- Click on Accounts
- Click Add Accounts
- Choose Other
- Click Add Subscribed Calendar
- Long hold and Paste the previously copied URL in the Server field. Then click Next
- Enter your HomeGauge User Name and Password in the fields. Then click Save
- Open the Calendar app. Your appointments should be displaying
If you use our Google Calendar Share feature and are finding that the appointments are appearing at the incorrect time inside of Google Calendar, follow the steps below to confirm you are using the correct time zone in HomeGauge:
- On your HomeGauge dashboard, click Appointments on the navigation menu
- Click Company Settings
- Scroll down to Time Zone and confirm you are using the correct time zone
