HomeGauge Payments: Test Payment

Updated over a month ago

HomeGauge Payments provides a convenient and secure way for inspectors to handle payments. After you've been successfully set up with HomeGauge Payments, it is important to do a test payment to confirm. By following the instructions below, you can ensure a smooth payment experience and better understand how the system works.

To learn how to sign up for HomeGauge payments, you can visit the article titled HomeGauge Payments: Application and Setup.

Create and Take Test Payment

  1. Log in to your HomeGauge Dashboard

  2. Start a New Appointment. For information on how to start a New Appointment, please visit the article titled Add a New Appointment.

  3. On the test appointment, create a new Customer using your email address

  4. Complete and Schedule the Appointment with an agreement linked

  5. Send yourself the appointment and agreement notifications

  6. That appointment will now show up under My Reports > All Reports

  7. Click the Request Payment link on that Address

  8. Set the Amount Due as $3.00. The reason for the $3.00 is to ensure that this single test payment meets the minimum amount required for the withdrawal deposit to your bank account. If it's under that amount, it may sit until another payment comes in before it gets deposited.

  9. Click Create Invoice Only after you've filled out the amount (you can add a description, but it is not required).

  10. Click Take Online Payment on the next screen. These are the steps where the inspector can take payment through their dashboard if they ever need to.

  11. Fill out the fields in the Payer Information and Credit Card Payment with your own credit card. The money will end up back in your bank account anyway! Then click Make a Secure Payment.

Check out the Test Payment on the HG Payment Dashboard

  1. Log into your account at https://payments.homegauge.com/ to view the transaction. Select Payment History in the side menu to see the processing transaction.

  2. The withdrawal will appear in your bank account in 48 hours, a little more if it's your first transaction.

  3. You can see the actual date of the next withdrawal and the amount from the dashboard. Shown when you first log in. But always accessible by clicking Payments, then looking for Next Withdrawal.

NOTE: HomeGauge Payments deducts the fees upfront per transaction rather than a monthly lump sum.
