Are you eager to try out the latest features and improvements in the Companion or Web Writer App for Android before they're officially released? Joining our beta program allows you to do just that. This guide will walk you through the steps to become a beta tester or opt out of the program.
Joining a public beta test
Before you start, ensure you have the Companion or Web Writer App installed on your Android device. Here's how to join the beta program:
Open the Play Store
At the top right, tap the profile icon
Tap Manage apps & devices > Manage > Installed
Tap an app to open its detail page
Under “Join the beta,” tap Join > Join
Tip: If you can’t find “Join the beta,” we're not offering a public beta for the app now. If you want to receive notifications about upcoming betas, check out the Inspection Innovators section of the Resource Center .
Leaving a beta test
If you ever wish to leave the beta program, follow these steps:
Open the Play Store
At the top right, tap the profile icon
Tap Manage apps & devices > Beta
Find HomeGauge Companion in the list
Tap HomeGauge Companion to open its detail page
Under "You're a beta tester," tap Leave

WARNING: If you decide to leave, you may need to uninstall the beta app and reinstall the public version. If you uninstall the app, you will lose any data currently on the app, including Reports and Templates. Make sure all information you want to re-download is saved on your cloud.
Use the app’s public version
To continue using the HomeGauge Companion app after leaving the beta program, follow these steps:
